Gut healing bone broth

Ingredients

  • Grass fed bones - feet, knuckle, or any leftover bones - we don’t need the marrow for this. The more the better, depending on your Dutch oven size.
  • Organic chicken feet - a bunch.
  • Organic carrots - 4-5
  • Organic onions - 4-5
  • Organic celery - 1
  • Organic apple cider vinegar - a splash
  • Sea salt - to taste
  • Prepeartion:
  • Preheat oven to 400f.
  • On a baking sheet with unbleached parchment paper add the bones, onions, and carrots.
  • In the oven for 20-30 min. I sometimes finish 2-3 min on broil.
  • Add to a Dutch oven.
  • Add chicken feet and celery.
  • Fill with filtered water.
  • Add a splash of apple cider vinegar. Salt.
  • Bring to a boil, and simmer for AT LEAST 24h.
  • Note- I have an electric stovetop, the min simmer setting is too low so I have to go slightly above. You definitely don’t want the broth boiling, but you want to keep your Dutch oven hot to the touch.
  • Strain. Break into jars. Keep in the fridge.
  • Before eating, remove the top fat layer.
  • I heat it up every morning, but you can eat it cold if that’s your thing.
  • Enjoy!
